Protein Metrics provides a host of N- and O- glycan libraries that can be easily incorporated into your Byonic node search parameters under the Glycan tab:
Under the Glycans tab, the analyst can choose to "Import" any default N- or O-glycan library. The analyst can also delete species and manually add species one at a time using this popup.
Creation of Custom Libraries:
While these default libraries are useful for a wide variety of experiments, there may be a need to create a specifically tailored library to fit your needs.
All default glycan library libraries exist as .txt documents that can be copied and amended to fit your experimental needs.
The text documents of these libraries can be found under C:\Program Files\ProteinMetrics\PMI-Suite\Base\data\GlycanDatabases
Please note: we have disabled write access to the default libraries. A copy must be made to amend the file.
Supported Monomers:
We also support a host of monomers for your customization:
Inputting Custom Library into Search Parameters:
If the library is intended for a N-Glycan (N-X-S/T not followed by P) or an O-Glycan (S/T), simply click the three dots and navigate to your library:
If the library is intended for different amino acid(s), the customization can be input into the text box:
The format for the example above is as follows:
