Intact Analysis facilitates quick and accurate deconvolution of m/z spectra and automatic assignment and annotation of the resulting M spectra. Assignments are made based on input sequence (combinations) and delta masses within the match tolerance value. The software annotates mass peaks with the closest matching combination of sequence+delta mass.
If the automatic assignment is not the desired one, there is a way to check if others assignments exist and override it.
Within the Masses table, the Match within details columns provides information of the masses matched. The Protein name and Delta name fields pick the best match (e.g., Protein1, Delta1 in the below figure) among the Match within details column. The user has an option to switch from the best match to an alternate match (e.g., Protein2, Delta2).
To do this, right-click on the row of interest in the Masses table, click Choose match within details. A new dialog opens where the user can switch from the best match to the alternate matches available. Change to an alternate match will be saved to the document and logged in the audit trial.
